When the shop undersells the work

Sister Deux are two sisters with backgrounds in fashion and graphic design, creating distinctive prints and artwork for the home. Their work is thoughtful, characterful and increasingly ambitious.

Their website had stopped keeping up with it.

The outgoing site ran on WooCommerce. It had become a patchwork of a general-purpose theme, accumulated plugins, and a design that no longer represented what they were trying to do. It was slow to change and visually it undersold the product. For a brand whose entire proposition is how things look on the wall, the shop itself was the weakest thing they made.

They had also rebranded: new wordmark, a warm burgundy and pink palette, new photography and new collections. The old platform had no room for any of it.

A site built for the brand, not the platform

Sister Deux now have a storefront that is wholly theirs. Our recommendation was a headless build, which meant that rather than working within the constraints of a standard theme, every detail of the site could be designed and built from scratch around the brand. No template, no compromises, every detail considered.

The new identity has room to breathe: dark burgundy ground, cream type, pink used sparingly, subtle animations throughout. An Inspiration page lets visitors hover over styled interiors and shop the print on the wall. Subtle load in animations and micro interactions add depth and interactivity to the shopping experience.

Day to day, the site is straightforward to run without any developer input. Products, pricing, collections, delivery copy and policies are all managed directly through Shopify. Their Mailchimp list connects automatically. A first-order discount sits in the announcement bar. The cart shows how close a customer is to free delivery.

The performance shift over the old site tells its own story. Pages that took close to ten seconds to load on mobile now appear in one or two. The site is six times faster, eight times lighter, and runs on a quarter of the scripts the old one needed. For a product-led brand, that difference is felt by every customer who visits.

We continue to work with Sister Deux on seasonal collections, campaign pages and ongoing refinements as the brand grows.
